Meet the Pygmy Goat Gang
Pygmy goats are the smallest breed of goat and are mainly bred for companionship and as pets,
They are naturally playful and love to chase one another putting in the occasional head butt for good fun! Goats particularly love to climb on anything, and everything – including humans! Being so small they realise the importance of being up high to ensure they are not missing out on all the action!
We have four little goats for you to meet: Bertie, Ernie, Geraldine and Belle.
Bertie
Bertie was a shy boy to begin with, but with lots of time spent gaining his trust he has now found his hooves, and thinks of himself as the boss of our little gang. He loves a good scratch on his withers, and his party trick is turning circles for a treat!
Ernie
Ernie is always first in the queue for food, and can usually be seen on the raised bed in the morning eagerly awaiting breakfast to arrive! Whenever a new piece of play equipment is introduced it’s normally Ernie who is first to test it out. He loves a scratch between his front legs!
Geraldine
Geraldine is a classic example of a pygmy goat – a short, stocky body and a pot belly! However, don’t be fooled, those little legs can move surprisingly quick. Geraldine is great in the winter when its’s cold – just pop her on your lap, and she’ll happily sit there for a cuddle keeping you warm at the same time!
Belle
‘Little Belle’ as we all tend to call her, maybe the smallest of our goats but definitely knows that she has all of us wrapped around her little hooves!. Belle is always the one we have to watch when opening or closing gates as she has a knack of squeezing through the tiniest of gaps. Belle is a pro at using the see-saw!
